Luxury Interior Design in Rosedale
Rosedale houses come with their own terms. Many are a century old or close to it, generously proportioned but altered repeatedly, and the interesting work is rarely additive. It is a matter of removing what previous decades imposed and letting the original proportions do the work again.

What the housing stock demands

How we work here
Restraint, and a high tolerance for detail. Getting a cornice junction or a door architrave right in a house like this matters more than any single decorative gesture. Materials are chosen to age alongside the ones already there. Lighting is planned to flatter tall rooms without announcing itself. And the plan is reworked with care for the original logic — the sequence of rooms, the width of a hall, the position of a stair — because that logic is usually what made the house worth buying.
Comfort matters as much as correctness. A century-old house can be beautiful and physically demanding — steep stairs, deep rooms, kitchens far from where the household actually eats. We plan the everyday routes and the working heights around the people living there now, so that the house is as easy to live in as it is to look at.
Heritage and approvals
Where a property is designated or sits within a heritage conservation district, interior work is usually unrestricted but anything touching the exterior, and occasionally specific interior features, is not. We establish what applies at the outset rather than discovering it mid-design, and we design to it.
